Earlier this week, the music world lost a gifted composer. Stephen Paulus died on October 19 from complications following a stroke in July. Over the course of his career, Paulus wrote 13 pieces for #opera (including his most famous, The Postman Always Rings Twice), 55 works for orchestra, and over 400 songs for #chorus (including Pilgrims’ Hymn, sung at the funerals of two presidents, and the Holocaust oratorio To Be Certain of the Dawn).
We had the distinct pleasure of working with Stephen Paulus back in 2005 when we commissioned him to write a piece called Sweet Soul. We include a recording of it so that you can appreciate his artistry, featuring guest soloist Rosalie Grace Sullivan.
