Merry Gentlemen: An ECMC Holiday

MERRY GENTLEMEN: AN ECMC HOLIDAY was an ECMC concert series that took place on Saturday, December 3, 2016  at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brooklyn, and on Tuesday, December 6 at 8:00 p.m., at The Church of the Holy Apostles in Manhattan.

ECMC's "Merry Gentlemen," concert series was a selection of traditional holiday songs and carols presented in full dapper array. The concert evoked the comfort and familiarity of a time not long ago when handshakes sealed the deal and words were bond; when hearts were light, and life was simple. At the heart of the concert, Artistic Director Vince Peterson prepared a new men's chorus edition of Antonio Vivaldi's celebrated masterpiece, "Gloria in D Major, RV 589," which was presented with a small baroque consort. Other men's chorus masterworks in the concert included Pietro Yon's timeless "O Holy Night," Luca Marenzio's "Hodie Christus Natus Est," and Irving Berlin's iconic "White Christmas."
