ECMC was originally founded in 1993 as The Gay Gotham Chorus, a chamber group to perform classical repertoire primarily of and for the LGBTQ community. The chorus was later renamed Empire City Men’s Chorus to reflect inclusivity of all men and to comment on a variety of social justice causes, especially via new commissions. The Silver Season Concert is the inexorable culmination of a gay-affirming group of men and allied women who have touched thousands of hearts, lives, and legacies of those who are no longer with us. RESPLENDENT will kick off NYC World Pride 2019 and ECMC’s next 25 years by presenting two world premieres from two rising composers. Be sure to raise a glass with us at The Resplendent Reception before the concert, and afterwards at the Silver Season Gala as one of our most fervent supporters.
