A Stable Lamp is Lighted

A STABLE LAMP IS LIGHTED is an ECMC concert CD recorded live on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Carroll Street in Brooklyn, New York and on Sunday, December 7 at 5:00 p.m. at The Church of the Holy Apostles in Manhattan, New York.

Like a lantern that welcomes a weary traveler out of the dark cold night, ECMC welcomes the audience on a musical journey celebrating hope, human kindness and remembrance of those in need.

Whether it is longing for loved ones who are fighting overseas or the longing of children who have lost their parents and their home, ECMC recognizes that we all search for a place of respite in a tumultuous world.  ECMC will sing pieces a cappella, with piano accompaniment and also with our audience. Musical highlights include:

  • Debussy’s Noel for Homeless Children
  • Tindley’s The Storm is Passing Over
  • Whitacre’s Lux Aurumque
  • Standards like Loesser's Baby, It's Cold Outside and classics like Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
